Time flies when you're having fun!

Our third kit already, time sure flies when you're having fun! This kit was filled with yumminess again, with super versatile papers that can be used for just about any project. This is important for me,as I don't like being pushed in one direction...

For my first two projects, I made pages for my mini-album (12x6) of our dog Vita. This is a work in progress ... I won't be finishing this album any time soon, but I plan on making some new pages every now and then when I come accross perfect papers like the ones in this kit.

Perfect background paper, cute strip of paper with the birds, that matches the goofy pics beautifully, and I just love that splash of colour provided by the frame made out of Cosmo Cricket paper. I like the look of that arrow as well, it gives a nice whimsical touch to the page. I sanded the pics, and I matched this look by sanding the alphas as well. The shiny surface of the alphas, together with the sanded edges, are a match created in heaven ...

Those little trees on the pp's are adorable, and I had a hard time not putting them on every LO. I've only used them on one so far, but I have to admit I'll probably cut them out again, I just can't help myself LOL! Same goes for the little birds ... I cut them out, and pop dotted them ... aren't they cute??

And don't you just love that checkered background paper? Together with that splash of orange and the strip with the brown ovals, it made the perfect setting for a boy's page. On the first page I did a lot of distressing and black inking ... on this page, I did no inking at all! I loved it as is (which is rare for me), and I wanted the papers to go with the white frame around the pic. So for this reason, I decided to leave the alphas unmarked ... pretty as well, right??

Both pages are made exclusively with January kit products!

Now those who know me, know that I've used an unseen amount of paper on my previous projects ... so, you've guessed it, it was high time for me to take out my painting materials LOL. Not only did I feel like painting, but this Pink Paislee background paper is so beautiful, I just couldn't bring myself to add any other papers.

I loved the combination of the paper and the Pink Paislee alphas, so I knew immediately I wanted to create a big title, making them the main feature of the page. Again, this is something I rarely do, so this kit has really broadened my horizon LOL! I added some masked leaves, a little white gesso and pink acrylic paint and added my pics. I felt the page needed some more colour, so I added a bright pink stitched frame and made flowers out of the cosmo cricket paper. That paper is just perfect to add colour to a project, the patterns and colours are beautiful!!!!

You've guessed right again, I still have tons left of the kit to make some more pages! I'll be back!

January Goodies....

I just love the Pink Paislee stamps in the January kit! They're so versatile. I used them as borders, embellishments, journaling spots, and I even stamped them on my paint before it dried completely.

Want to know the secret to the Pink Paislee Pixee Stix on my layout?
Paint some glue. Yep, paint. Grab a paint brush and paint some glue onto your layout. Make sure you press your glitter into your glue after you tap off the excess. But the paint brush strokes allow you a little artsy creativity with your Pixee Stix.

There's more though! We decided to recycle a little something this month using pieces from our kits. It's part of the whole renew, restore, resolve idea. A new year, a new you, a new resolution......I can't wait to show you what I've come up with. My kiddo's are already fighting over who gets to keep it!

xoxo,
Charity

Nooo...

...we haven't disbanded!!! Let me TRY to keep this explanation brief: We are blessed to have a computer for every one in our house over three feet tall. Last summer, Kea decided it would be cute to remove about 6 of my keys. SOOO, instead of me letting The Man take it to be repaired as soon as it happened, I took over HIS computer...which now has a virus. And, because Ahmad has ALSO downloaded a virus as a special gift with the 3,000 songs he has downloaded...well, I guess my rock and hard place are quite obvious, huh? But, the boy introduced me to the wonders of an on-screen keyboard (praise Him for kids with technical skills!) So, I'm SOMEWHAT back in stride until the guy repairs the other two computers. I said all of that to say this: when it come to the January reveal...oh...it ain't my fault!!!

I've been married for 87 years. Not really but I HAVE been married long enough to have finished our wedding album. I've started this book FOUR times now...I just want it to be perfect. But, I'm dedicated to finishing it THIS YEAR. So, I'm gonna do a layout from each kit. I love the simplicity of the page I kreated with the January kit. I think it really draws attention to the picture of my husband and I praying. The Pink Paislee paper is beautiful cut out [worth every tedious moment of cutting I did!] Everything I used on this page, including the stamps [excluding the birdcage] are part of the January kit.

OK, OK...I'LL GET ON WITH IT!!!!

Each of the three titles refers to the New Year and the renewal of our goals. Only two are blinged out but all three are FABU!!!
